| Provenance |
The F-series McCormick Farmall replaced the original design in 1932. This farmall tractor was used on the Meziere's farm. The farmall is one of two found underneath the Meziere's Farm tractor shed. The other Farmall (not pictured) was built in 1920 and was a hand crank model.
In 1940 tractors became affordable for many farmers across the region. Improved farming techniques combined with the increase of mechanization in the farm industry reduced the demand for farm workers. In 1940 there were 159 tractors reported in Natchitoches Parish, by the 1950 census 458 were reported. |
