Provenance Hidden away and forgotten in old barns and sheds are rusting objects and artifacts from the sharecropping era. The single tree yoke, wooden center and metal hooks was attached to a mule or horse to a wagon or plow. The front end of the tong or trace chains and connect to the animals harness at the shoulders. The Sears catalog offered a similar type yoke as early as 1902.

Many broken farm implements were modified or creolized and used for some practical reason other than it's intended use.
